Course Description
This is Part I of a two part course introducing the student to the field of Graphic Design. A major component of this course is the development of skills essential in order to bring together the conceptual and formal elements of design in the production of effective solutions. Emphasis will be placed on developing both technical and conceptual skills. Focus will be placed upon developing skill with various tools used as well as developing an awareness of the relationship between the tool used and the image produced. Usage of the computer is not part of this class and will not be accepted as a tool for solutions to projects, except in the writing of papers. There are no prerequisites for this course.
