DEBORAH ANDRESS BIOGRAPHY

I was born in Orange, Texas, but I have lived most of my life in the Pensacola, Florida area. I am married to a very wonderful man and have two sons and three grandchildren.

I enjoy painting in oils and mixed media. My favorite subject matter is wildlife and orchids. I first started painting orchids at my parents urging. They are orchid growers and always provide me with an abundant variety of orchids to paint. I spent several years traveling with them to orchid shows and had the opportunity to show my paintings to numerous art lovers.

I am a realistic painter who wants the viewer to experience all the beauty of our wildlife. My paintings depict an understanding of our wildlife's environment, their habits as well as their habitat. I can see the beauty in the wild and skillfully capture every nuance. When I'm painting orchids, I strive to capture their fragile nature and all of their subtle colors.

Painting and drawing have been a life long passion for me. I have studied locally and as well from the International wildlife artist, Dharbinder Bamrah. I have won various awards and my paintings are part of many private and corporate collections. I am a proud member of Quayside Art Gallery, one of the oldest and largest co-op galleries in the southeast.
