TIME SCHEDULE:

Check-in - 8:30 - 9:30

 

Coaches Meeting - 9:20

 

Girls Race - 10:00

 

Boys Race - 10:45

 

 

PRACTICE DATE:

Upon Request (call Coach Brauer at 891-3311 or 632-3216)

 

 

PARKING:

East half of parking lot, just South of Track.

 

 

T-SHIRT SALES:

Regional T-Shirts may be available at concession stand.

 

 

RESTROOMS:

Located under East bleachers

 

 

SPECTATORS:

Please instruct fans to rmain outside of the track fence and to the South of the yellow rope.

 

 

GAMES COMMITTEE:

Coaches will be asked to volunteer to serve on the games committee.

 

 

FINISH CHUTE:

The finish line will be located at the mouth (wide part) of the chute.

 

The finish judge will determine the proper order of contestants as they cross the finish line.

 

 

COURSE:

Grass and dirt trails

 

Length - 2.9 miles

 

 

TEAMS:

Athens, Auburn, Franklin, PORTA, Pittsfield, Pleasant Plains,

 

Riverton, Springfield (Lutheran), Williamsville

 

 

GOVERNING RULES:

Refer to the 2007-08 Boys and Girls Cross Country Series Terms and Conditions (Enclosed in

 

IHSA State Series Packet)

 

 

AWARDS CEREMONY:

The awards ceremony will be held at the football field 30 minutes following the conclusion of

 

the Boys race.  In case of bad weather the awards ceremony will be moved into the gym.

 

 

CONCESSIONS:

The PORTA Booster club will sponsor a concession stand at the meet.

 

 

CAMPS:

Please locate team camps behind East Bleachers at the football field.

 

 

SPECTATOR CONTROL:

Please emphasize to parents and fans from your school how important it is that participating

 

athletes are not interfered with.  Spectators will not be allowed inside the track / football

 

field fence and are asked not to cross the white line that marks the course area.

 

 

WEATHER:

In the case of severe weather, teams should take shelter in the PORTA

 

High school gym.

 

 

EMERGENCY NUMBER:

In case of a medical emergency, Menard Ambulance Service will be called (632-7784).

 

Costs will be the responsibility of the patient.
