FEATURES:

  1. Will setup Email Entries that can download to any Meet Manager who is using Sydex Track Gold Software (such as myself)
  2. Will setup a TEXT file that can be used as a readable attachment to attach to an email or printout for posting to a Bulletin Board or for your clipboard.
    1. For #2, after you fill in your roster and event entries, click on PRINT ENTRIES, then CONTINUE (after you have highlighted the events you want to print), select PRINT TO FILE,

   , then fill a File Name  C:\MYMEETENTRIES.TXT  , then click OK.

b. To find that file, find the “C” drive, and look for (or insert if you are sending an email attachment) the file name MYMEETENTRIES.TXT (you may use a different file name back in 2a).

Please read the following instructions, with the suggestion that you print them:

  1. If you intend to download this file to a School computer, you will probably need to have a School Technical Administrator install the file (this type of file –“exe”, usually is rejected by many School Security systems as this executable file is typically what is used by Virus files). You should be able to install it on a home computer with the assurance that this file has been thoroughly checked for viruses.
  2. When you click to download the file listed below, you will encounter the following messages:
    1. Do you want to run or save this file? Click RUN
    2. The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure? Click RUN
    3. Welcome to Track Freeware! This program will unzip the files and run the install. Click OK
    4. Click Setup to begin the install. Click SETUP
    5. “Sydex” Screen – click CONTINUE
  3. You will probably need to RESTART your computer to make sure the installation is correct.
  4. To start the TRACK FREEWARE, click START > ALL PROGRAMS> SYDEX SPORTS SOFTWARE > TRACK FREEWARE (this icon may be visible above START to begin with)
    1. When the software opens, there is a PRINT INSTRUCTIONS icon that, when used, will help you use the program (this free software is an excellent tool to keep individual personal bests as the season progresses, even if you never used it as a tool for entries into meets)
  5. With the installation, you should also now have a red/white letter “J” on the desktop. If you “Create a File” for a meet entry, when you “Save & Exit” the software and click on the red/white “J” icon on the desktop, an email should automatically open up with that File automatically inserted and my email address already added.
  6. For Junior High entries, please enter an 8th grade Relay as Relay “A” and 7th grade Relay as Relay “B”. Also when entering names, please put the grade number right after the last letter in the last name of the athlete – example: Last Name – “Doe8”, First Name- “John”, Grade/Class – “8"
