This young eagle was released after being treated at the Garrison Animal Hospital.
After getting the big bird out of the cage Dr. Deb hands it off to Bob Wrobel who does the actual release.
Bob carries the eagle to the field where it will be released and after the countdown gives it a boost into the air.
The eagle gets itself into flying position and looks around for open sky.
Bob watches it take a couple of flaps of its big wings and smiles as it goes.
We don't really need any explanation of the next few photos, it's pretty obvious what's happening.
It's almost past the end of the tree line.
It kept climbing as it went and was soon out of sight. Another magnificent eagle is once again Wild and Free!
