Now that spring has arrived Wild and Free is starting to get busy again. Most of our fund raising activities take place during the warm months. This year we started the spring with the annual bratwurst and pop sale. Our sale took place on opening weekend of fishing season which also happened to be Mother's Day. Unfortunately, it was a cold rainy weekend which hurt sales a little but not much. Becky, Crystal, and Mary dressed for the weather.
The baby critter season has started at Wild and Free. Here are some of the first orphans we've seen this year. First, a baby beaver that lost it's mother to a car. Dr Deb says it's doing well and should be able to be released later.

Unfortunately, this fawn is not doing so well. It lost it's mother as soon as it was born and didn't get the special mother's milk that provides natural immunity from many things. Dr Deb is not sure that this little one is going to make it.

We have our first batch of baby raccoons now.

Again, they were orphaned by their mother's run in with a car. Here's a close up.

This little Gray Squirrel came in as an orphan when it was so young that its eyes weren't open yet. Kris hand fed it a special mixture with an eye dropper until it could eat on its own. It's doing fine.
