I was hoping that by the time I had recovered enough to walk the beach again the weather would have improved.  No such luck.  Not that it's bad, especially compared to what the folks back home are getting, but it would be nice to see the sunrise again.  Even the local Great Blue Heron looks grumpy.

We decided to make the best of it, put on our walking shoes, and headed for the beach.  We passed by this boat for sale and I thought it was interesting to see what a used boat like this was selling for....  $50,000.00  Ouch!

There were quite a few people out enjoying the low tide this morning, lots of beach for walking.

There was just enough wind for this young girl to keep her kite in the air.

On the way back from the beach we stopped to visit with Libby, a 15 year old Cairn Terrier and her human, who was getting up in years also.  He's almost as old as me!

Back at the condo we noticed some pelican activity in front of us so Becky stepped out on the balcony to check it out.  She found that there were a couple of dolphins hunting as they moved by.  You can tell when they're actively hunting by the swirls in the water even if you can't actually see them.

Here's a series of 5 shots of a hungry dolphin.  Notice the little fish just starting to come out of the water down and to the left of the dolphin swirl.

I believe that this dolphin is smiling, probably because of the little fish hanging out of the corner of its mouth.

We wanted to kill a little time before lunch so we drove over to the SPI golf course to look at an open house for sale on the golf course.  After that we drove back to the island.  It was still foggy!  You can make out one of the taller buildings shrouded in fog.  There are 2 others nearby that are taller and we couldn't see the upper floors of any of them.

Becky called ahead to Mahi Nate's snack bar and ordered some lunch to go.  While we were waiting for it to get ready I walked down the pier for a short distance and watched some fish being cleaned.  After the edible parts were removed the carcass was thrown to a group of pelicans that were there to take advantage of the free food.  They didn't want to share with each other.

After lunch we ran a couple of errands and then stopped at the boardwalk with a camera.  It was still foggy.  That didn't seem to bother this young Ibis.

You have to walk out to the end of this boardwalk to be able to see the water.  It's like walking in a tunnel.  I'm standing in the part that's almost completely enclosed by the vegetation.

The Vermillion Flycatcher was still hanging around.  Even in the fog it's a beautiful bird.

It was nice enough to sit for a portrait.  I hope it's still around when the fog goes away and I can get a really good shot in the sunshine.

Becky walked out on the south boardwalk while I was shooting the flycatcher.

I met her on the way back and she told me there was no reason to walk out the rest of the way, no critters of any kind hanging around.

We started back to the car and stopped about halfway to check out the area where the spoonbills usually hang out.  No spoonbills today but we did get a look at the elusive Sora.  That's only the 3rd time we've seen it this year.

This isn't a sunset picture but ............

Fred.... Tom.... does that give you any ideas???
