The Andersons:

Chapter 11

Rudy received the Anderson’s check for $3,000. On June 7 he officially became their attorney.

On June 25 Rudy Rivera got their case out of PGN.

Yes.  After months and months of being kicked out, re-submitted, kicked out, Rudy had Audrey’s case out in a matter of 18 days.  Rudy informed his clients that the attorney at Diaz-Duran handling Audrey’s case hadn’t any clue what was going on.  He also asked why they just hadn’t gone down to PGN themselves when they’d been there in January!

On July 2, Rudy had other information.  Audrey’s birthmother needed to sign off on her birth certificate, releasing her parental rights.  Unfortunately, she was not able to sign off right then, for she was in the hospital giving birth to a baby boy.  The very same baby Denise Hubbard claimed had been born in March.

Denise made a trip down to Guatemala herself in mid-July in her “caring adoption agency director mode.” She emailed the Andersons photos of baby Audrey.  Photos of a beautiful, sweet little girl, with soft curls framing her face.  A little girl who was now walking.

Audrey wasn’t alone in those photos.  A hugely corpulent Denise Lynn Harding Hubbard, her face stretched by fat, was smiling into the camera, holding Audrey, whose face showed traces of pure alarm.  Denise had really packed on the pounds since I saw her in May 1999 (Perhaps she ate to suppress the guilt).

Face blurred for privacy (but you should see the look on it!)

“Who wants to see her fat ass?” was the question the Andersons asked themselves when presented with these photos.

    They have a valid point.
