Sacramento Valley North
Difficulties: Easy to moderate

Trailshot: A small web of old ranch 2-track winding thru hills and canyons in an igneous desert setting. Many small easy loops are possible, plus several deadend canyons worth a runup. Grades are mostly easy, as are the roads, but ruffer stuff awaits further into the hills.

 Where is it?

To get there travel west from Kingman or east from Laughlin/Bullhead on Route 68, to 'golden' Sacramento Valley, a full 20 miles wide. Rt. 68 is straight as an arrow all the way across.

Just west of the big Sacramento Wash bridge near the middle is Estrella Road. Head north 4 miles on smooth dirt and turn left on Jurassic.

If you reach the end of Estrella and the road only goes right, back up 1/4 mile. On Jurassic go 1 mile west to a cattle guard, then 1/4 mile further to a small unmarked road going right (north).

Park here or drive 1 mile or so to pass up the dull stuff.

Yip! Yip! Yahoooo!!!

 Riding at SV North
Get lost!

Loosing your way is easy here (no way!), but so is finding it again (which way was it, again?). Just head downhill to the south till you reach Jurassic.

Green is easy
Blue is not so easy
Red is not easy at all

Starting at about 3000 feet up, the total rise from south to north is 500 feet, steepest in the north. There is a pass (top center on map) that goes thru and down to the north, but a private shooting range has moved in and I'm told they're blocking the roads.

There is only one house (on map), and to go up the canyon behind it you must skirt around it on the east side, against the hill. I've never heard any dogs there, or seen any people either.

There is no water here, except for a couple of cattle troughs (no swimming please).

 Slow day
