Summer Camp

For 2008, We will once again be attending Camp Daniel Boone near Waynesville, North Carolina. This is an excellent camp with many options for scouts to advance and have a good time. We will have a pre-camp meeting in June to discuss specifics. Merit badge registration begins in December. Let one of the scoutmasters know if there is a specific MB you want to try for.

What to Bring to Boy Scout Summer Camp

The most frequently asked question at the end of each week of camp begins with “my son left his ........”

Please remember to mark your items with your name, a troop and phone number is also helpful.

Lost and Found items are not returned to the Council until after camp closes in September.

Use this handy checklist as you pack for your summer camping experience. Mark everything with your name and Troop number, using indelible pencil, ink or woven name strip.

A Word About Homesickness....

For many boys, Summer Camp is their first experience away from home. This can be a traumatic experience, but it is rarely fatal. I appreciate the trust you have given us to watch over your boy for a whole week. Please know that we all have boys and have worked with many others. We have seen this before and will see it again. Before you come to camp to retrieve your son who just called to tell you about the rain and the bugs and the heat and the smelly tent, please contact one of us. Our boys and our adults are always very supportive about these things. Give your son the opportunity to succeed
