Jodi Merritt faced 33 batters last Tuesday in the first game of a doubleheader at Minneota against MACCRAY in which Minneota-Canby was victorious 6-4.
MC went on to win the second game, with Merritt on the mound, 12-3.
In the first game. Merritt struck out nine and allowed four walks. Kelcey Citrowske was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs. Merritt was 2-for-3 and Kate Peterson was 2-for-4. Nicole Prellwitz went 4-for-4 and Stephanie Boulton had a two-run hit.
Rhea had four RBIs and Merritt had three.
MACCRAY took a one run lead in the top of the third inning, but MC bounced back with four runs in the bottom of the inning. MC picked up two more runs in the fourth.
In the second game, Merritt struck out six and walked three. Citrowske was 4-for-4 with four runs, two RBIs, a double and a triple. Rhea went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs. Merritt was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a double. Boulton went 2-for-3 with two runs.
MC had three runs in the first, three in the second and two in the third inning of the second game, then picked up four more runs in the fifth. MACCRAY’s two runs came in the fourth inning.
