Canby defeated Minneota 14-4 in a five-inning game in which Chris Nemitz pitched all five innings and struck out eight with no walks. Nemitz allowed four runs, three earned, on seven hits.
Girls win doubleheader
Jodi Merritt faced 33 batters last Tuesday in the first game of a doubleheader at Minneota against MACCRAY in which Minneota-Canby was victorious 6-4. MC went on to win the second game, with Merritt on the mound, 12-3.
