REGULAR BOARD MEETING
MARCH 11, 2008
8:30 P.M.

The regular meeting of the Board of Education was called to order by Chair Jacobson.
Members present: Randy Jacobson, Dr. Craig Kaddatz, Brenda Full, Greg Pederson, Alan Saltee, and Kari Harding.
Members absent: Supt. Loren Hacker
Others present: Laurie Yackley (Recording Secretary), Jeanne Anderson, Ellie Beman, Sandi Arndt, Dr. Bob Slaba.
Motion by Harding, seconded by Saltee and carried unanimously to adopt the business agenda.
Motion by Pederson, seconded by Harding and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of the February 26, 2008, regular meeting.

The following items were discussed:
1. H. S. Principal’s Report - Dr. Slaba handed out a sample activities brochure which is being developed by Susan Kamrath to hand out to prospective students.
2. Elementary Principal’s Report - Ms. Arndt reported on the 4th & 5th graders overnight trip to the Science Museum. The kids were all very well behaved. Mrs. Lisa Hansen did an online blog while they were there. The K-4 Music Program is next Tuesday and the end of of the 3rd quarter is next week.
3. SW/WC SC Insurance Overview - information
4. Board Retreat - Call Supt. Hacker if you have any questions/suggestions.
5. Communications:
a. MSBA Day at the Capitol - April 9-10 - Let Supt. Hacker know if you are going
b. Legislative Update - It’s hopeful that our legislation will go through
c. Special Education Funding - info.
d. Elementary Translucent Gym Panels

ATTENTION: FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT COMPANIES

The Canby Independent School District #891 is requesting proposals for food service management services. The Food Service Management Company would provide management services according to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations and guidelines and Minnesota Department of Education guidelines.

The Canby Independent School District #891 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all proposals or to accept the proposal that is in the best interest of the school district.
A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for April 29, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at the Canby Independent School District #891 Board Room, 307 1st Street West, Canby, MN 56220.
All proposals must be submitted no later than May 13, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. All proposals should be delivered in a sealed envelope and addressed to Canby Independent School District #891 and be clearly marked: Food Service Management Proposal.
