7-7-00 "Hornballs!"
I made a great t-shirt design for the strip club in our movie. It has a sexy little Viking girl that has a strong connection to "Stonecutter's Quest". Practically everyone I showed it to wanted to get one when we get them printed. I'm hoping to get a few t-shirts and a "Best of Out Of Whack" videotape available soon. I better get my butt in gear or the summer will be over and I'll have very little to show for it! Also am in contact with possible help from a girl in Green Bay (be still my heart!).
7-13-00 "A Few Big Steps!!"
Today I woke up bright and early and ran down to the bank so I could get a check to send to California before I left for Wisconsin Dells with my cousins. That's right! I purchased a Canon XL-1 for $2750 and I should be getting the beast sometime next week! Wisconsin Dells was incredible by the way, certainly there's a movie idea waiting for that setting! Hmmmmm?! Today I wrote a big check out for a 60 gig hard drive so we'll be able to store our movie when we get it shot! I added a few more pages to "The Hunt" as Tom and I worked our way through a tough section of the story. Only a few more pages before the whole thing is wrapped up.
7-17-00 "Who Needs It!!"
Well, I met with the mysterious girl in Green Bay and it seemed to go well. I lent her a video, two books on screen writing, a script for "The Hunt", and my "Stonecutter's Quest" storyboards and she gave me every indication that she wanted to work with me. Well, I haven't heard from her since our meeting! I even gave her one of our groovey new logo stickers that my cousin Joe designed! At this point I believe I may have scorned her and that was never my intention. I'll keep trying to reestablish communication but if she has no interest in making movies, well then, perhaps it's best that she's gone.
7-21-00 "Timber Coulee Whooptie Doolie!"
Went down to my Dad's with a group of friends for a massive party/country music fest in Westby Wisconsin! Now I'm not big on country music but when you have any kind of concert down in a hidden ski-jump valley it's certain to turn out great! Climbed to the top of the ski jump and totally wore myself out! Wow! I am a worried ball of nerves as I'm begining to get very suspicious about the company I bought my camera from as it hasn't arrived yet! I'm SO excited to get shooting, even if it's only establishing stuff! The camera is just what I need to get me motivated again!
7-24-00 "The Big Screwing!!!"
I called UPS and they couldn't do anything to give me a tracking number on my camera. They did say that UPS would get a package from there to here in four days. I've received several emails from the guy that sold it to me. A 'girl' named Monika even assured me, via email, that Kevin (the guy that scammed me!) sent it out before he went on a four day vacation. #$%@#!! The jerk went on vacation with my cash!!! Maybe I'm just worrying over nothing, the camera show up in the next few days! God, I'm just sick! How could I be so stupid!
7-26-00 "Still Nothing!!"
Went to the bank and got a copy of the check front and back. The signature is completely illegible but there are a set of numbers that the guilty party wrote down under the 'signature'. These numbers could be his account number or they could even be his social security number. I also got in contact with the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection. They said there has never been a complaint on that company. That doesn't meen that the company isn't ripping people off though. It just meens that no one's complained yet. Well, I'll be the first! This stupid journel is turning out to be a movie idea in itself! Tom says it'll make a great story for when we're on Letterman!
7-28-00 "What Now, Big Dumb Craig?!!"
Hi everybody, my name is Craig and I got suckered $2750 off the internet! I sent out email warning to a bunch of guys yesterday warning them of the potential internet fraud. They were very gracious and wanted to see the guy go to the 'shithouse'. I'm wondering what my next move will be. I NEED to get something ready for the film festival in Madison next year! That is a solid goal that I won't sacrifice! I thought about putting a camera on my credit card but the interest rate would kill me! Besides, I'm already paying them way too much each month! What I owe is just a drop in the bucket as far as the budgets in Hollywood are concerned but for me here in a little Wisconsin town it's a handful!!
