bullet  General Notes:

I'm assuming John is also a son of Jacob since he is with the family on the ship Bark Orion coming to the U.S. in 1850. See notes under father Jacob for ship information.

1855 Penfield, Monroe, NY Census: Beachner, John (age 14) boarding and working as a farmer with the John Weaver family. I believe this family was located around the four corners of Penfield, NY.

1860 Fed Census: Beechner, John (age 20) working and boarding as a farmer with the Ransford Berine (sp?) family in Irondequoit, NY - his brother George was only about 4 pages later in the same census

20 Aug 1861: enlisted in the Civil War under Company H, 3rd Cavalry Regiment New York (source: Ancestry.com)

1870 Fed Census: Beachner, John with wife Alta in Irondequoit, NY. Listed as a Milk Peddler, born in Germany, and a citizen of the US. Property worth $1500.

1880 Fed Census: Beachner, John with wife Alta in Irondequoit, NY. Listed as farmer, born in Saxony. Brother George is also on the same census page.

Based on Civil War pension record index John must have died somewhere between 1883 and 1888. His death certificate is probably available through NY state.
