I remember my step-Grandfather as my real Grandfather. He was the quiet and kind man in my eyes. I was ten years old when he died.
Howard's birth certificate has his middle name listed as Arlin. However, my father, Robert White, remembers that Howard could not stand that his initials spelled "hog" so his middle name was Orlin. Also his death certificate lists his middle initial as O.
According to Howard's death Certificate, his last profession was a food salesman for National Biscuit Co. in Saranac Lake, NY. His education level was high school graduate. He died of advanced small cell carcinoma of bronchus that he had for seven months.
