According to Marion Shore, owner of the land that the Martin Family Cemetery is on, he remembers Lois saying that J. C. Martin was "a real nice man." Marion was a good friend to Lois and her sister Cynthia. Marion also said that Lois had Alzheimers Disease and that she died around the year 2003.

Lois married J. C. Martin, son of Henry S. Martin and Mattie J. ?. (J. C. Martin was born on 13 May 1911 in , Jackson County, GA,² died on 13 Jun 1966 in , Jackson County, GA ^{2 3} and was buried in George L. Martin Cemetery, Jackson County, GA ².)
