CENSUS CLARKE COUNTY, 1830 HEADS OF FAMILY: Clarke County was established Dec. 5, 1801 from Jackson County. A part of Greene County was added to Clarke County 1802 and 1807. A part of Clarke County was set off to Madison County 1811, 1813 and 1829; a part to Oglethorpe County 1843; a part to Oconee County 1875. The County Seat is Athens, Ga. E-mail dated January 26, 2004 from Sandra Hood: "I have one small correction to make in your work. Henry's son Jesse was not named William Jesse. I think Winkie White did that, but the William in that family is William Jeremiah, as you have. Please let me know about Henry's marriage. He died April 6,1869 in Banks Co. GA His son Wm. Jeremiah was a partner with his father Henry in "Henry White and Son", but Jesse was the administrator of the estate. Thank you for telling me about your very interesting work." Sandra Hood
