Myra spoke with Flora Sailors Phillips prior to Flora's death in 1999 and Flora informed Myra that Amanda "Betsy" Baxter was an illegitimate child.
Betsy's headstone in the family cememtery (see notes on William Canady White) reads: "Amanda E. Baxter, wife of W. C. White, June 25, 1837, July 15, 1907, Best mother, rest in quiet sleep. While friends in sorrow o'er thee weep."
