Charles Peter Walsh was born in Weehawkin, New Jersey on October 27, 1927. He passed away Friday, March 12, 2010. He was 82 years old. He was the son of the late Charles J. and Marguerite (Maher) Walsh and adoptive mother/aunt, Kate (Maher) Doyle of Marlboro, New York.
Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Navy while still in High School to serve his country in the Pacific Theater during WWII aboard the USS Bennington.
He returned from the war and graduated from Marlboro High School and then from Ithaca College, Summa Cum Laude. He was a bunker in the firehouse while attending college. He began his teaching career in Marlboro, New York as a physical education teacher and became a guidance counselor. Chuck was a beloved coach and referee for football, basketball and baseball in many schools throughout the Hudson Valley.
