Sister Bear is over at Lizzy Bruin's house watching Trouble at Big Bear High--a big-cubs' video that they probably shouldn't even be looking at--in which two teen bears are having an argument. When one of them gets really really angry, he says a certain word. It's a word Sister has never heard before. At dinner that night Sister tries out this brand-new, stronger-sounding word. When Mama Bear recovers her senses, she has to explain to Sister all about a certain kind of word. It's the kind of word that nobody, not even adults and certainly not cubs, should use at any time, no matter how upset or angry they are. Click here to learn more! |

“The Berenstain Bears Are A Family” has been named as this month's selection. This book in the Berenstain Bears Toddler Books series was originally published as a First First Time Book over ten years ago, was out of print for a few years, then resurrected in 1996. The book presents a first look at who's who in the everyday extended family of a young child, in a rhyming book that identifies parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A fun book that you may not have in your collection, learn more about it here! |

It's that time of the year again... back to school. But families can be comforted to know that even in Bear Country going back to school is something everyone must deal with eventually. In this book, Sister Bear is about to start her first day of Kindergarten. Like most kids, she is scared and unsure, but soon realizes there isn't too much to worry about. This is a perfect book to help introduce the concept of school to those yet to begin and also appropriate for any youngster who is hesitant to return this fall. Drugs? In Bear Country? Yes! Sister and Brother uncover a drug problem in Bear Country, and they're determined to track down the culprits. But just when they're sure they've solved the case, they learn that jumping to conclusions is not the best way to solve a problem. The Berenstain Bears Get in a Fight has been one of the most popular Berenstain Bears books since it was first released in 1982. Through the story, the cubs learn that sometimes even the good friends and loved ones can get upset with each other... but in the end its a lot more to fun to get along. The books has been adapted to video, sand there is also a CD-ROM by the same name. Purchase a copy of this book today and share this story with a friend! |

For years, parents and children alike have praised the Berenstain Bears' New Baby and made it one of the best-selling books in the Berenstain Bears series. However, New Baby more focused on the Bear Family's struggle to adjust to the new circumstance and did not directly address the issue of pregnancy and the age-old question every child asks, "where does a baby come from?" For those parents who are looking for a book that might help a child understand where little cubs (and little people!) come from, The Birds, the Bees, and the Berenstain Bears is a great choice. It also will be a landmark book in the Berenstain Bears series because it is the first of two books that will add a new family member to the Bear Family. Look for The Berenstain Bears and Baby Make Five in August to answer the question of whether the new cub will be a boy or girl. But in the mean time, check out The Birds, the Bees, and the Berenstain Bears! |

One of the all-time classics, and a personal favorite of mine! Bears in the Night is a Bright and Early Beginner Book first published in 1971, and it is usually found in libraries or bookstores with other Dr. Suess books. This is a great book for young readers or for a quick read-aloud bedtime story. The illustrations are great and the words rhyme! Follow the bear cubs as they sneak out of their treehouse to investigate a strange noise in the night by buying this book at Amazon.com or find it at your local library. You won't be disappointed! |

The Berenstain Bears and the Neighborly Skunk A Berenstain Bears Mini-Storybook that is now out of print! Luckily, you can still find this book at many libraries or search for a secondhand copy at the Advanced Book Exchange or eBay. The story of the Bear family and Mr. Skunk is a classic tale in which kids learn not to judge people by stereotypes or appearance. First published in 1983, The Berenstain Bears and the Neighborly Skunk is a great book for early readers and adults alike! |
