    Located just 7 minutes (5 miles) from Cornell University, Ithaca College and Ithaca, Besemer family history says that this country farmhouse was originally an inn on the Catskill Turnpike.  Later Mr. Besemer became the stationmaster for Besemer Station on the Elmira, Cortland and Southern Railroad.

    Besemer Station Inn is convenient to many area attractions.  The Cayuga Wine Trail starts just 2.7 miles away, or visit Ithaca's famous waterfalls and gorges, state parks and Cayuga Lake.  Enjoy the downtown Ithaca Commons, theaters and many fine restaurants.  Participate in the activities at Cornell University and Ithaca College.

    Relax and enjoy our comfortable country home with chestnut woodwork and pine floors, antiques, Grandma's quilts and items collected from our travels.  (Wir koennen ein bisschen Deutsch sprechen.)

    Hike or cross country ski on the old railway bed and imagine how the old water tower used by the trains could be given a new life. Enjoy Ithaca's Fall Color.

    Bed and Breakfast Accommodations

    Begin your day with a homemade, healthy and generous breakfast served in our comfortable dining room or on the deck if weather permits.  As a small business, we try to personalize breakfast around your likes/dislikes and allergies - so be prepared to be asked when you register.

    Complimentary cold and hot nonalcholic beverages are always available - and sometimes homemade cookies.


    The Two Guest Rooms have private baths and air conditioning and standard amenities such as hair dryers, shampoo, etc.

      • The larger room is known as Aunt Leah's Room.  It has a queen bed, full bathroom and a bay window overlooking the gardens. 
      • Dream history in Grandma Jewel's bedroom as you sleep in our antique rosewood extra long double bed that belonged to the Besemer family.  It has a private shower bath.
      • Season rates are $140 per night for Aunt Leah's room and $125 for Grandma Jewel's room, higher for special weekends. Year round discounts include $40 reduction / night for 3rd through 7th nights (4th night on graduation weekends and 3rd week of August).  Call for exact rates.
      • Previous guests are given a preference for Cornell and Ithaca College Graduation bookings.


    Visiting a friends or a student at Cornell University or Ithaca College?  For an extra $5, they are welcome to join you for breakfast.  Let us know the preceding evening.

    A folding bed is available for $20.

    Customs and Policies

    As a small bed and breakfast business, we strive to make your stay special with the little extra things you love but don't always have time for - such as flowers from the garden in your room, a special chocolate or homemade cookie or assistance with travel plans or restaurants.

    We are unable to accommodate children under 9 years of age.

    Smoking outside only please.  There are no facilities for pets.

    Check in time made by prior arrangements.  Check out at 10:30 a.m.

    Reservations are assured by advance deposit of one night's lodging.  Balance due upon arrival.  Because we go to a lot of work to make your stay special and do not overbook (as many hotels/motels do), we must have adequate notice.  Cancellation must be made at least 10 days prior to the date requested or $25 is charged for each night cancelled.  If cancellation is less than 48 hours of arrival time one (1) night rent will be charged plus the $25 for each additional night, 30 days notice is necessary for graduation weekends. Of course, we always try to rerent your room so that we do not have to charge you other than a $25 administrative/rebooking charge.

    From May through October, a two (2) day minimum stay is necessary when Saturday or Friday  nights are included.  Reservations made within one (1) week prior to stay will be exempted from the 2 day minimum..
