Ebay Auction Item# 280204627729
Hello, my name is Joseph Beaton and this small website was created because, like so many others, I have been 'hosed' again
with an Ebay transaction and I'm mad as hell. I will say that I submitted a dispute to Safe Harbor
on March 13th, 2008 and the outcome has not been determined yet. I will post the results.
Below is a link to the original auction. Please make note of a few points, I asked the seller specifically about the
condition of this item and expressed how important a few areas were. All this can be validated by looking at the emails. Also,
look at his auction and how he mentioned purchasing insurance which I did. And lastly, let me point out that the packaging
was TERRIBLE! There was no packaging material at all, no bubble wrap and no peanuts, just 2 cardboard boxes taped together.
Look at the pictures of the 2 boxes taped together and you decide whether or not it could survive having anything
stacked on top of it without ruining the contents.
As with any Ebay auction feedback, there is always a "I said - He said" feedback that never gives the complete story.
Look at the auction, the emails and the other proof I offer and make your own decision on who is at fault.
If you wish to contact me for any reason, feel free to drop me an email at Joe@JosephBeaton.com
Thank you
Take a look at the feedback he left me, "BEWARE SELLERS!Sent wrong payment type,HARASSING MY HOME,TALKING ABOUT COURT POS"
If it was the wrong payment type, they why cash it?! He is mad because I pointed out to him that it was a bank check done
through my bank's web payment so, not only do I have a record of the transaction, I can also produce a copy of the check with
the sellers signature! Obviously I caught him off guard with that. Oh, and if you want to know, the check can be validated
by calling M & T Banking at 1-800-790-9130, 9-5 EST and the check number is 327102055.
Secondly, I have never contacted his home. I requested buyer info from ebay. Saying that I harrassed him at home is a
pathetic, disgraceful lie and that upset me most. If anyone wants to prove who's the liar here, I will GLADLY take a polygraph with him ANYDAY.
How about this, we both take a polygraph and we agree that the liar has to take a full page ad in the New York Times, with his
picture and proclaim that he is a chronic liar and apologize to the other...take me up on this if you have the ####'s.
Lastly, yes, I did say that I will be taking
him to small claims court if Ebay can't resolve this...that's not harassment, that's a promise.
After I created this site, he responded on his feedback area with, "NICE EDITJOB,REPORTED TO POLICE AND EBAY,ALL OVER $24,JUST HAPPENED TO U-RIGHT".
I think that speaks for itself so no additional comment is even necessary.
*** Side note, be patient when loading up the auction and emails. Ebay uses javascript modules....
Here is the original auction.
Here is a picture of my online bill pay. NOTICE that not only did I pay the extra $3 for insurance,
I actually paid $1.48 more than I had to because his math was wrong and I never checked it ($24.99 + $18.50 + $3 + $1.48 = $47.97)
Here are pictures of the box it came in. Remember, no packaging material inside, just 2 boxes taped together.

In his email on Mar13, he finally makes some kind of gesture to resolve this by saying "Send it back and ill refund the actual sell price,i cant pay for shipping both ways-THAT WAS MY OFFER TO HELP".
Let's see, I've already spent $47.97 so you want me to sent it back and pay the $18.50 shipping cost (and spend time repackaging it and dropping it off at the post office) to get a $24.99 refund...WOW, THAT SOUNDS GREAT! LOL!
What the hell did buying the insurance do for me other than put an extra $3 in his pocket??? I definately feel like making some redneck references here but I'm trying very hard to maintain a higher level than him...
There you have it. You be the judge on who is right and who is wrong. All I can say is buyer beware when dealing with this guy.
Edit 14-Mar-2008: Thanks for the emails. Some of you guys are nuts! LOL!
