Preaching Jesus and His gospel at
the JW District Conventions

On July 8th about 15 of "Jesus' Witnesses" went to the Buffalo NY Jehovahs Witness District Convention, which was held in Rochester NY at the Arena. There will be 2 more held at the Rochester Arena, one for Syracuse and one for Rochester, in the next few weeks. Lord willing we will attend those also. We had 3 banners displayed and about 8 double sided scripture signs , which were carefully selected scriptures, chosen for this particular crowd. By the looks on their faces it appeared as if very few were affected by it all. They blankly looked straight ahead. They just marched on by. By about 8:30 there was a good size crowd eagerly awaiting the opening of the doors. This gave us opportunity to preach a half hour as they waited. They wasted NO-TIME in entering the arena once the doors opened. It was amusing but very SAD that they kept wiggling the doors to see if they could enter, as if the doors would magically open all by themselves. I even noticed a few that had their fingers stopping their ears. Yet as I scanned the crowd I noticed some faces very intent and looking our way. By the looks, you could tell, they were hearing. Someone called the police and an elder in very nice looking 3 piece suit came out to talk to them, when they arrived. The police never even talked to us, they told the elder we had a right to express ourselves, and they could not stop us. They wanted the police to stop us. Not restricted but stopped.

The JW leaders in their infinite wisdom sent out about 30 Elders to stand between us and those entering. They formed a tunnel with elders on both sides, some pointing the way, and some holding both arms up as if to hold back our preaching. Now we could not have asked for a more advantageous situation! Here we have 30 leaders; pillars of the congregations; of JW's in Western New York. They heard 3 hours of NON-STOP PREACHING. They read all those scripture signs, and banners. There were sermons on Hell, Sin, Salvation, Jesus, Jesus is God, being set free in Christ, and more. God gave the various preachers a well blended series of sermons, being a blessing even to us. The spiritual battle was on. We got out the gospel cannon of the Word, and continued to lob gospel shells at the enemies beach-head, in an attempt to weaken the enemies death grip on the multitude of lost and blinded souls caught, in this cult.

An incident that happened later that evening, gives encouragement that the gospel cannon may have broken down some of the defenses. Bro Hance was at a gas station when he noticed one of those elders at the other island pumping gas. Just a coincidence I am sure! He asked him some questions, which he answered since there were no other JW's around to report him. Bro Hance's last question to that elder was: "I preached about Jesus being God and showed you from the scriptures that it was so" Bro Hance repeated the scripture references of those verses. "Why won't you look into these things?" The elder did not rebuff him but replied "You know, I just might do that"! Praise the Lord! That is not the kind of response you usually get from a JW. I hope and pray that he does look into it.

There is a former Mormon in Salt Lake City, who is now a born again street preaching; pastor, church planter and missionary to his people the mormons! Doing a work for the one true God! Now imagine what God could do with a saved, zealous former JW. Teach him the Bible, point him in the right direction and send him out. He would have an understanding of these people, already have a burden, and since he was a "leader"; personally know, maybe thousands of JW's in the area.

We will have a total of about 35-40 thousand different JW's from all of Western NY, attend the Conventions, in these 3 meetings. we may have opportunty to preach to these same elders. Please pray that some would be set free by the "glorious gospel of Christ"!
