Rather than resorting to scripture-bending and other kinds of mental gymnastics to try to make Mormon teachings fit the Bible, why not just rewrite the worst Bible verses that contradict Mormon teachings? Here are some suggestions to start with:

1. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the second chance." (Hebrews 9:27)

2. "... ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there are lot's of them: I know plenty. " (Isaiah 44:8)

3. "For by grace are ye saved through faith plus works; and that of yourselves: it isn't the gift of God: but really of works. therefore men may boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9)

4. "And the LORD said unto Moses ... Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me and live except an obscure teenager in a grove of trees near Palmyra, New York on a beautiful spring day in 1820A.D." (Exodus 33:17, 20)

6. "... thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife... And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said unto David, "It's too late for you now! Premeditated murder and adultery can never be forgiven!" (2 Samuel 12:9,13)

15. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man. and the end thereof are the ways of life." (Proverbs 14:12)

16. "Believest thou not that I am not in the Father, and the Father not in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that is separate from me, and only one in purpose, he doeth the works." (John 14:10)

(King James Bible) [There's a very unpleasant warning against those who "take away from the words of the book of this prophecy ..." (Revelation 22:19) Joseph Smith did exactly that in his so-called "inspired Version" of the Bible.]

24. "... Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, "Repent, have faith in Christ, be baptized by those with proper authority, have the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost, and keep all the commandments of the Lord, and thou shalt be saved,and thy house." (Acts 16:30,31)

25. "And have put on the new man, which is renewed in bodily physique after the image of him that created him: " (Colossians 3:10)

Mormonism seems to have rewritten Genesis I :26:
"And man said. Let us make God in our image, after our likeness... "
