Sheepy Hollow at the Mid-Town Market
We'll be at the Mid-Town Public Market on Saturdays again in 2007.  The market opens on Saturday, May 3rd.  We'll be in our usual position and, in addition to lamb, we'll also be displaying THE LAMB COUNTRY COOKBOOK, some beautiful lamb-skin throws, some original design postcards and, perhaps, a few other items from time to time.

The Mid-Town Public Market is at Lake and Hiawatha, at the foot of the Hiawatha Line commuter rail station.

We set up every Saturday morning by 8 A.M. and we're there until at least 1 P.M..  We certainly hope you'll stop by and visit us.

We'll also be selling some beautiful sheep skin rugs (or throws) and the really excellent Lamb Country Cookbook.

THE MIDTOWN PUBLIC MARKET

Visit the web site of the Mid-Town Public Market and check out the calendar of special events and celebrations for next summer.

The market is really a lovely little outing for the whole family. Bring the kids and treat them to a ride on the wonderful Hiawatha Line rapid rail system.  You could also get off the train at the Mall of America and spend a little time there as well.

Lamb Country Cooking
A Cookbook Recommendation
Jill Charlotte Stanford

Buy it from Sheepy Hollow

This terrific cookbook,
LAMB COUNTRY COOKING, by Jill Charlotte Stanford, лллл was one of our most cherished Christmas gifts in 2004. So much so that we decided to offer it for sale to our customers and web site visitors. We recommend it highly. It's published by Countryside Publications, Withee, Wisconsin (second edition).

If you're interested in the book, we can sell you a copy at our booth at the Farmers Market ($12.95 + 85в MN sales tax) or send you a copy for the same price + $1.05 shipping/handling ($14.00). Minnesotans should add 85в to that amount for sales tax ($14.85). Send us a check for that amount and we'll have a copy in the mail to you pronto [address]. Or, you could probably order one at your local bookstore.

Stanford is from Oregon and does her cooking out that way. She writes that her "book is designed for the lamb lover who likes their lamb simple and good, as it ought to be."  An initial chapter is "All About Lamb" and will explain almost everything you want to know about lamb and a whole lot more -- including good information about various lamb cuts. She also explains how to buy lamb. "Buying a whole or half lamb... can be economical, and it allows you to obtain exactly the cuts you want." Now that's a suggestion we've been making for a long time.

We've already tried a number of her recipes and we can tell you her methods and procedures are solid. The results were magnificent.
