The 1999 Large Chess Variants Contest

V O T I N G   P A G E

Hello and welcome to the voting page. The current voting is for which four entries will be finalists in the 1999 Large Variants Contest.

The deadline for voting is

July 31, 1999

All who vote in this contest will be entered in a raffle. Every twelve voters, a voter (from the group of twelve) will be picked at random. That voter will receive, free of all charges, taxes and tariffs, one of the following six computer chess games (voter's choice)! Voters who send in comments about the entries that they are voting for get entered twice (ie. your chances are doubled)!

All of these games have been graciously donated by

Aleksey Bartashnikov

Voting

You may vote for as many submissions as you wish, but only once per submission. When you vote for a submission, you are asked to rate it, and based on your rating, the submission gets a certain number of points. At the end of the voting, the number of points earned for each of the submissions is totalled. The four submissions with the highest totals become the four finalists. Ties will be decided by random lot.

Attempts to vote in such a way as to give one game a rating higher than excellent will be rejected. Giving one game a vote of "excellent" and then giving 50% or more of the remaining games a vote of "flawed" will simply result in the one game getting the "excellent" vote, and that's all.

Negative comments that are not constructive will not be posted. If you have a negative comment about a game, please do try to give some details as to what you found flawed about the game. Thanks!

Go to the simple voting page for a list of the entries and press the vote button for the one(s) you wish to vote for (or against). Vote buttons may appear in other pages. For a description of the 1999 Large Variant Vote Distribution plan, go here.

Also, there is rumoured to be a secret vote results page. Sources (who shall remain unnamed) tell me that the only known way to get to that page is to vote.
