Mexico

Here are some photos, taken in July, 1998, of one of our favorite vacation spots...the "Mayan Riviera" south of Cancun, Mexico. We stayed at a lovely spot called Akumal (Mayan for "The Place of the Turtle").

This is a view of Akumal Bay from the patio of our room at Hotel Club Akumal Caribe.

When the ocean just isn't cool enough, take a dip in one of the many Cenotes in the area. This is Yalku, just a couple of kilometers north of the hotel and a few hundred meters inland.

The ancient seaport at Tulum is a beautiful archaeological site south of Akumal. It is a massive area, complete with partially restored dwellings and temples, and of course a lovely beach.

Another view of Tulum.
