September 2020: This Java version of RainScatter has superseded by the new (and still free) cloud-based application at rainscatter.com. The old java-based RainScatter will be archived here for the time being for historical reasons, but it is no longer being maintained by the author. This site will be removed shortly. Let move on to something better!

RainScatter is a program designed to aid Radio Amateurs in making contacts on microwave frequencies
by using precipitation particles as a scattering medium. It automatically downloads the latest radar
images and their associated storm attribute tables from the National Weather Service to identify possible
propagation paths between stations.  It is designed to eliminate some of the guesswork in identifying
potential scattering regions.  I hope that it will foster interest in this exciting mode of propagation.
