This leaf pattern came from the February 1975 workbasket, page 57. I used 2 strands DMC embroidery floss #699 with a size #7 tatting needle.

For some reason when I followed the directions for RW I seemed to reverse it the wrong way, as you can see in the photo. When I "forgot" to follow directions and put it in the position I felt was right the chains seemed to lay better. As you can see, my tension changed from the beginning to the end of the leaf. My saving grace was knowing real leaves aren't exactly the same on each side.
