I used 2 strands DMC variegated embroidery floss #115, Westrim Crafts 3mm iridescentes beads with a size #7 tatting needle to make this cross bookmark I used the pattern on top of page 26 of Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica hahn.

I learnt a very important lesson while working on this cross. While adding additional needle thread, I was watching a season opener of one of our favorite TV shows. I discovered that you should not try to trim the thread ends while watching a "good" part. Not only did I trim the end; I also trimmed the needle thread and the ball thread and had to join them back on in the same place not in offset locations like I would have preferred. Next time I think I will wait for a commercial.
