Submitting Newsgroup complaints to FrontierNet Security

FrontierNet does not make, nor is known to be required to enforce, individual newsgroup posting policies.

Newsgroups (unlike Email) do have their own facilities to rid themselves of unwanted postings. FrontierNet considers itself to be only an enforcing assistant of Newsgroup policies when all existing authority and enforcement options have been exhausted AND a person in authority is willing to submit a complaint that the unresolved situation is disrupting the Newsgroup.

Newsgroup articles can be cancelled. You are encouraged to contact the Newsgroup's enforcement authority and request that they cancel the offending post and notify the poster that this has taken place. This will remove the incentive to post articles that you feel are offensive.

Should the enforcing authority have a continued problem despite cancelling, the enforcing authority may submit a complaint in accordance with the requirements below. Incomplete complaints cannot be processed. All Newsgroup complaints must be submitted with the following information

To submit a complaint, you must be a managing authority of the Newsgroup and have already used those enforcement options available to you. Automated complaints cannot be accepted. Complaints from those not in authority or if not already enforced by the Newsgroup cannot be processed (contact your enforcing authority for resolution).

    The required information is:

    1. full Newsgroup name, posting regulations, and a statement establishing the regularity that the posting regulations are posted to the news group (or other manner in which users are informed of the regulations)
    2. complaintant's name, position of authority, email address, physical address, and phone number
    3. a specific (non-automated) complaint, including the actions you have taken to resolve the problem, associated Emails, etc.
    4. if the post violates a local regulation/ordinance/law, please provide the full specification and the text of the paragraph violated
    5. satisfaction sought (must be attainable and reasonable, for instance an AUP violation)
    6. all supporting postings with complete headers

Contact us with all newsgroup related complaints. Please specify in the comments field Authorized Newsgroup disruption complaint.
