Motivational Training

Animals can be made to do what we want them to do by using pain or using fear to force them.  We call that approach fear or punishment based training.  That type of training has been largely rejected today by professional trainers.

I use a motivational approach in which

This way the dog is happy and wants to repeat the behavior to get more rewards.  And we are happy because the dog performed.  Sound simple?  It can be although there is no getting around practice, practice, practice!

Lessons

I offer private lessons by appointment at my home.  A lesson lasts about 45 minutes.

Fees
One dog $20.00
Second dog   $5.00
Home visit $30.00

Puppy Kindergarten

I offer a basic session for puppies from six weeks of age.  This makes sure that you and puppy get off to the best start before bad habits get started.

Behavior Correction

Some dogs develop behavior problems and if your dog has a problem, I am the guy to call.  Here are some of the most common problems that I work with.  It is important to know your breed and choose a breed that fits well with your life style.  For example, Labrador Retrievers are a very popular breed and can make great, intelligent pets.  They are a physical, enthusiastic breed and require both challenge and exercise.

If you have a problem that is not on the list, call me.  517-287-5835.
