In this section we have sought to bring you some tasty vegan treats to add to your collection of dishes.
Oat Burgers
9 cups of boiling water
2 large onions, sauteed (if too large, use 1/2 or 3/4 onion)
1 cup raw sunflower seeds ground coarsely in your blender
1 tablespoon sweet basil
1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning flakes
1/4 teaspoon oregano powder
9 cups oatmeal (regular)
1/4 cup nutritional yeast (this is not the kind you use as leavening for baking, but a special kind you can get in health food store)
either tomato sauce or any other seasoning you like to use.
Add seasonings to boiling water, follow with all other ingredients. Gently stir in the oatmeal until all is mixed and then let it set until it is partially cool. Form the patties with your hands and place them on a non-stick cookie sheet.
Bake at 350º for 20 minutes on each side (watch them so that they won’t get burned.)
