WMHS Quilt Challenge - General Rules

Theme: It's in the Stars

1. You must buy a challenge packet for $8.50 plus tax from Country Treasures. The packet contains 4 fat quarters and an entry form.
2. Quilts may be any shape, but must not be smaller than 12"x12" and not larger than 30"x30" horizontally and vertically. The front of each entry must contain recognizable pieces of at least 3 of the fabrics from the packet. You may add any other fabrics that you would like to use. Any combination of hand or machine piecing and/or applique may be used. You choose your own pattern!
3. The pieces must be quilted (hand or machine) or tied and finished. Ther name of the quilt and the name of the maker must be on the back of the quilt. Any embellishments must be securely attached.
4. Entry, signed entry form and $10 entry fee must be submitted by Wednesday, July 2, 2008. These may be dropped off at Country Treasures, 27 Market Street, Brockport, during regular business hours.
5. The finished entries will be displayed and judged on Friday, July 4^th in the Carriage House of the Morgan-Manning House. Entries may be photographed for publicity purposes prior to or during this event. Entrants will be able to pick up their entries at the end of the event, if desired, or at Country Treasures in the week following the event.
6. Quilts will be judged on visual impact, use of fabrics and theme, and workmanship. Creativity counts!
