Meeting
We will meet on May 8th at the business center of the company Emerge at 7 pm. Hope you will reserve the date.
This is a new location graciously provided by Leo Linder.
No need to respond if you will be attending -- just show up. There

Randy French a teacher from Geneseo Central School and long time
adventure aficionado from Pack Paddle Ski Corporation will be the
speaker/presenter.
Do you want to see penguins?
Do you want to see whales? Does the idea of swimming in the
Antarctic Ocean send shivers up your spine? It did mine, so
I applied for a National Geographic/Lindblad Expeditions learning opportunity
to go to Antarctica. In December of 2016 I was only one of 6 teachers
in the United States that was selected to go by boat to visit and learn
about this spectacular southern continent. You can join my journey
via pictures, stories and videos of the unique wildlife that inhabits the
Antarctic Peninsula. I will also share with you why the ecosystem
on this coldest of land masses is so fragile. Maybe the exquisite
ice shapes and colors will inspire you to take a journey of your own.

Other Information
Those who wish to join RRISCC officially
by paying the annual dues amount of $10.00 can do so for our current fiscal
year September 1, 2017 through August 31, 2018 by sending a check to Henry
Hamlin. His address can be found here. The advantages are that dues-paying
members are entitled to roughly a 30% discount on all EMS items & 25% on other brands
at EMS on their club day weekends
held twice a year, once in May and again in October.
And, dues-paying members can borrow library materials belonging
to the club and Stu Milligan which are listed here. Also, only dues-paying persons can vote on most business matters. Upon receipt of the membership
fee, a membership card would be mailed to you.
