March 2019 Meeting
We will meet on March 12th at
the business center of the company Emerge at 7 pm. Hope you will reserve
the date. This is location is graciously provided by Leo Linder.
No need to
respond if you will be attending -- just show up. There is no

The presenter will be Shane Kenyon. The
title of his presentation is Empire of Ice: (Mis)Adventures in Ice
Climbing Around the Empire State.
Join Shane Kenyon as he regales you with harrowing tales of poor
planning, inadequate equipment, insufficient skill, spinelessness and
terror. Spanning 7 years of mid-life crisis, Shane has been ice
climbing in many areas of the Northeast, but especially across New York
State. Having evolved into the sport through a passion for
gullywhumping and a love of waterfalls, Shane has led up to WI3+ and
followed WI4+, and top-roping up to WI5/M6. Shane will be sharing a
plethora of photos and will happily answer questions and share lessons
learned with the audience.

Those who wish to join RRISCC
officially by paying the annual dues amount of $10.00 can do so for our current
fiscal year September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2019 by sending a check
to Molly (Mcbride) Hickey. Her address can be found here. The advantages are that dues-paying
members are entitled to roughly a 30% discount on all EMS items & 25%
on other brands at EMS on their club
day weekends held twice a year, once in May and again in October.
And, dues-paying members can borrow library materials belonging
to the club and Stu Milligan which are listed here. Also, only dues-paying persons
can vote on most business matters. Upon receipt of the membership fee,
a membership card would be mailed to you.
