Season 2008-2009

Hawkeye Community Theatre ends its 52nd and opens its 53rd Season with these productions:

The year 2009 opens with the Annual Dinner Theatre, the riotous comedy “Any Body Home” by Carl Ritchie and Elise Dewsberry. Michael Shoopman directs the production under authority of Dramatic Publishing Company. The show runs for six nights – March 5, 6, 7, & 12, 13, 14, 2009. It is by reservation only by calling 515.576.6061.

Hawkeye Community Theatre

The August Show will be directed by Terry Coleman. He has chosen the wild Broadway hit farce “Boeing, Boeing” by Marc Camoletti. The popular show runs at HCT for six nights, August 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 2009

The June show is directed by Bob Higgins and runs June 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 2009. He will do the well known comedy “The Owl and the Pussycat” by Bill Manhoff.

For the 2008 Christmas Special, December 11, 12, 13, 2008, HCT will put on two timeless classics, "Gift of the Magi" based on the short story by O. Henry, adapted by Thomas Hischak, and "O Holy Knight" by  Patrick Rainville Dorn. Brandy Vrchoticky marks her HCT directorial debut.

Finally we close the regular season in October 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2009 with the Annual Dessert Theatre, the comedy “And The Winner Is” by Mitch Albom. It is being directed by Martha McColley and Stacey Bochart.

The July Show is being directed by Buzz Powers. He has chosen “Sing On!” by Rick Abbot, a hilarious comedy about community theatre. The production entertains July 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 2009.
