Gingerbread House Competition
The annual Gingerbread House Competition will be on display and individuals with an admission ticket can vote on their favorite house.
To enter the Gingerbread Competition:
Houses must be delivered to the Society office by Wednesday, November 28th for inclusion in the competition
In addition, gingerbread must be included in some part of the house and the house must be edible.
Christmas Tree Auction
Come see all the Christmas Trees decorated by various community groups and florists from the area! Individuals can bid on the Christmas trees and take one home in time for the holidays!
Artisan's Bizaar - Saturday, December 1st
This exciting event will be held in the "Great Room" at the Society headquarters and will include hand-made items from artisans of all kinds. Plan on attending and purchasing that special something for a loved one for the holidays.
Father Christmas - Daily!
Father Christmas will be present each day to talk with youngsters in attendance.
Special Luncheons - Daily!
The Order of the Eastern Stars will prepare special luncheons each day. The luncheons can be enjoyed either at the facility or packaged for take-out.
1st Annual Holiday Ornament
Available for purchase during the Holiday Festival will be Lewis County Historical Society's 1st Annual Holiday Ornament. The 1st limited edition numbered ornament is a rendition of the General Walter Martin Mansion located in Martinsburg, NY, undergoing restoration by Lewis County Historical Society. Consider filling someone's stocking with one of the limited edition ornaments bursting with history! Future ornaments will continue to celebrate Lewis County and will be available by June 1st of each year. Ornaments are available for purchase by calling LCHS at 376-8957 or by visiting any one of the following businesses in
Port Leyden: Community Bank
Lyons Falls: Charter One Bank
Lowville: Northern Federal Credit Union, Community Bank downtown and at the Plaza, Key Bank, Sweet Basil, HSBC Bank or Kinney Drugs.
Pricing: Each ornament is $16 + $1.24 tax. Shipping & Handling per ornament is $6.50.
Proceeds from the ornament will go to the restoration project of the General Walter Martin Mansion.
Admission
Daily events are from 10 AM to 4 PM each day of the Holiday Festival
Individuals purchasing an admission ticket to tour the facility during the event will have an opportunity to vote for the gingerbread house and Christmas tree of their choice.
