Formula Motor Racing

- Stephen A. Cuyler

For a faster and more random game when playing with less than the full number of 6 players use the following rules:

Each color is represented at the table. Non-player colors participate in the game as well. Each time the non-player color comes up for a card play, flip the top card on the draw deck as that color's play.

Overtake: When any color Overtake is played, the card applies to the car of that color that is furthest back in the race unless it is the color of the non-player. In that case, the Overtake card applies to the furthest forward of that color.

Wrong Line, Off Circuit, Lose Control: When any of these cards is played, they apply to the Lead car in the race unless that car is the color of the non-player. In that case it applies to the next car in the race that is a different color (which will be second or third place).

Tailender Turbo: When this card is played, it applies to the car of the non-player color that is furthest back. If the non-player has no cards in one of the last three places, it applies to the very last car in the race.

Pit Stop: When this card is played, it applies to the car of that color that is furthest forward, unless that color is the same as the non-player. In this case it applies to the car that is furthest behind. For the Black border version of the card, it applies to the first car in the race, unless that car belongs to that non-player. In that case it applies to the next car in the race that is a different color (which will be second or third place).

Charge: When this card is played it applies to the last car of the non-player color in the race. The non-player will roll only one time. If the non-player has no cars left in the race, it will apply to the lead car in the race.

Spin Out, Spin Last: When played, the non-player rolls the die (any real person at the table may make the roll). If the result is one of the non-player's own cars, they will re-roll. Otherwise, the first roll will be the one selected.

Crash: When played, the non-player rolls the die (any real person at the table may make the roll). The second car knocked out will always be the one in front of the chosen car, unless there is not one or the one in front is the color of the non-player. In such a case, the car behind the crash victim will be chosen instead.
