About this Site:
Science is the observation, investigation, and explanation of the things that happen around
us. Although we humans understand a great deal and consider ourselves to be advanced
beings in this universe, there are still many, many things that we don't understand. Each
day, the scientists of our world continue to explore the unknown and discover new and
exciting things.
This site is devoted to science and technology. My goal is to share some very interesting tidbits
in a manner that is easily understandable. I strive to provide enough depth to keep everyone
interested. I especially hope that kids, ages
10 and up, will find this site of great interest and that it might spark an interest
in the world of science.
Regular visits are encouraged because new additions will be
made on a monthly basis.
About Dr. Bob:
I currently reside in Wallkill, NY. I am married and have three wonderful children
(who like science
and technology....... and sports). : )
I am a chemist by training. I attended Rutgers University for my undergraduate studies.
I obtained a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Drexel
University in Philadelphia, PA.
I have over 17 years of industrial research and management experience. In my
previous position I was employed by Texaco Inc. as a group leader
in the Fuels and Lubricants Technology Department.
I am currently the Director of the Sylvan Learning Center in Middletown, New York.
Sylvan provides supplemental remedial and enrichment education for children and adults. We utilize a sophisticated
diagnostic - prescriptive approach to determine "skill gaps". On the basis
of this diagnostic assessment, a unique, customized program of instruction is then developed
for the student.
My interests include computers, my kids, scuba diving, and taking great vacations.
